Dr. Christine graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Science and Specialization in Kinesiology. While working as a Kinesiolgist she discovered the value of Chiropractic when she sustained an upper back injury, and decided to pursue the journey of Chiropractic.

In June 2015, she graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College as a Doctor of Chiropractic. After touring Europe she joined the Knots ‘n’ Joints team in October 2015. Dr. Christine combined her love for learning and care for children by pursuing the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association Certification. Dr. Christine is equipped with the skills to assess, evaluate and treat children as young as newborns and as old as teenagers.

Dr. Christine is also trained in the Webster Technique. This technique is aimed towards prenatal care for the pregnant mother. Dr. Christine completed the prestigious Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program at McMaster University in October 2015 and is licensed in the administration of Acupuncture Therapy. Dr. Christine is also trained and certified in the operation of the highly innovative Bioflex Laser Therapy. Initially it was the idea of pre/post-natal treatments and infant massage that brought Michelle to the career path of massage therapy. Having suffered with hip and low back pain throughout her entire pregnancy, Michelle was set and thought prenatal and infant care were her focus until she was introduced to laser therapy. Her previous sports related injuries were becoming a limitation to Michelle’s career choice and she was referred for Bioflex Laser Therapy. Astonished as to how much Laser therapy helped her, she immediately took a course and got certified.

Michelle enjoys treating using a variety of modalities including hydrotherapy massage therapy and laser therapy. Michelle has discovered her passion is helping people reach their therapeutic goals. She has experience in pre and postnatal care, sports injuries, work place injuries and much more.

When she isn’t at the clinic, Michelle loves the outdoors, especially spending time with her family at her trailer. She also loves to cook and bake.

Registered Massage Therapist – Pediatric Massage Therapist, Dynamic Tape Certified

Elissa’s career started with her passion to help others. She graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming College class of 2011. Elissa Is in good standing with the College of Massage Therapist’s Association of Ontario (CMTO) and is a professional member of the Registered Massage Therapist’s Association of Ontario (RMTAO).

She finds enjoyment in continuing her education and is experienced in Reflexology, Laser Therapy, and Advanced Dynamic Taping and has studied with Tina Allen to complete her Pediatric Massage training. Elissa has practiced in sports medicine and rehabilitation alongside physiotherapists and kinesiologists. She has since decided to follow her dream and focus on Pediatric Massage.

Elissa is energetic about the health development in pediatrics. Her ability to connect with young patients is incredible. She makes the experience fun and connects to each child’s needs and interests. Elissa focuses on each unique individual as a whole. She believes in listening to clients’ needs and assessing the body connected as a whole.

When she’s not in the clinic, Elissa enjoys spending her free time adventuring in nature.

Kyla is a Registered Massage Therapist who has been practicing since 2005 and is a graduate from ICT Kikkawa College. Kyla is dedicated to providing focused quality care and responds to the needs and complaints of her clients; she is very passionate and has an interest in on-going education.

Kyla’s skills include deep tissue, Swedish, Myofacial Release, Hot Stone, Trigger Point Release, Positional Release, Relaxation, Bamboo and Pre and Post Natal Therapy.

When Kyla is not at the clinic she loves to work out, cook and spend time with her family.

Erin O’Ray went to school at Sir Sandford Fleming college for massage therapy and graduated in 2011. Erin was able to do a bit of traveling with her career, she worked at the Fairmont Chateau in lake Louise for a year and a half and it was an incredible experience. She loves what she does and loves being able to help people improve their health on a daily basis.

Erin is very outdoorsy when she isn’t at the clinic. She loves camping, hiking and fishing.

Samantha Gordon

Registered Massage Therapist

Samantha graduated from Centennial College in 2015. Prior to becoming a Registered Massage Therapist, Samantha went to George Brown College for Pre-Health Sciences. Samantha knew she wanted to become a RMT after an ailment in her teens – she received physiotherapy & massage therapy which helped her recover quickly.

She has taken courses in water rehabilitation, soft tissue release & Level 1 Thai Yoga massage. Samantha has experiencing working in rehabilitation, working with physiotherapists, chiropractors, kinesiologists & chiropodists – helping clients with a variety of conditions including: pre/post-natal, neuropathy, sports injuries, strokes, lymphedema, migraines, whiplash, spinal cord injuries and multiple sclerosis.

When Samantha isn’t at the clinic, she has her hands full with her newborn baby boy and working on her farm.

Anik Gutierrez

Anik was born and raised in Montreal, QC (yes she’s is fluent in both French and English). She has lived all around ON, QC and Europe. In her mid-thirties, she decided to go back to school for massage therapy. She graduated from Fleming College massage therapy program in 2011 and move to Sudbury to start her career and new adventures. When she decided to move back to the GTA, it was a natural fit to join Knot’s ‘n’ Joints with her fellow Fleming graduates.

Anik has a passion for the massage profession and has a holistic approach to her treatments. She is known for her lighter, yet effective touch and her fascial release work.

Paula Owler

Paula Owler

Registered Massage Therapist, Golf Therapist, Acupressure

Paula knew that she wanted to be a RMT right out of high school, but an opportunity sent her to New Mexico on a soccer scholarship for two years where she studied athletic therapy. She graduated in 1998 from ICT Kikkawa College and has practiced in many different disciplines of Massage Therapy ever since. Some of these include Physiotherapy, Chiropractic Clinic, Corporate, Golf Course, Spa and Home Based practice.

Paula is known in the massage world for her vast range of techniques. She is especially talented at Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports injuries, Myofacial Release, Trigger Point Release, Acupressure, Pre and Post Natal, Golf Swing analysis and Injury. She also is excellent at Relaxation massages.

When she isn’t at the clinic, her hobbies include: soccer, hockey, hiking, snow mobiling and riding motorcycles.

Ashley Demaio

Registered Massage Therapist

Ashley graduated from Georgian College in December 2017. She previously worked as a Physiotherapy Assistant at a nursing home in Barrie and in Markham Stouffville providing exercise programs to the Geriatric population for two years.

Ashley’s decision to work in the health field stemmed from her athletic background. Playing competitive hockey and lacrosse she suffered a number of injuries over the years and seeked physiotherapy and massage therapy for treatment.

Her passion for helping others and working as a Physiotherapy Assistant led her to wanting to expand her knowledge, and she went back to school to become a Registered Massage Therapist.

When Ashley is not working, she enjoys playing hockey and lacrosse, as well as travelling, and spending time at her cottage with her family and friends.

Andrea

Andrea Baranchuk

Andrea graduated from Trillium College’s massage therapy program in 2014. She is experienced in Swedish massage, pre-natal care, Bamboo and relaxation massage as well as Trigger point therapy, Myofascial release and joint mobilization to help reduce pain and increase range of motion.

She has a deep understanding of the needs of clients who suffer from chronic pain, fatigue and Fibromyalgia and enjoys providing clients with stress-relieving head, neck and foot massage. Andrea believes strongly in providing homecare options to support the benefits of treatment.

Her treatments are a lighter touch, but are focused to each client’s individual needs and goals whether it is to reduce stress and tension or relieve pain or maintain tissue and joint health. When not working, Andrea enjoys spending time outdoors, discovering new places, learning new things, and experiencing life’s little adventures.

Melissa graduated from the Registered Massage Therapy program at Trillium College in 2018. Melissa had always been interested in the health and fitness industry.

After working as a personal trainer for many years she decided she wanted to be able to help people improve their overall health.  

Melissa had always enjoyed working with people and helping them reach their goals but wanted to be able to help them more when it came to their body functioning at its optimal level; this is how Melissa found massage therapy.

Growing up as a gymnast and soccer player, and now currently competing in fitness competitions, Melissa would often see registered massage therapists to help her body recover and heal from injuries. Once learning more about how beneficial it was for her body, she wanted to be able to take her fitness and sports background and combine it with massage therapy. This allowed Melissa to learn more and become more educated in order to help people in all areas of their overall health.

Jeannie Dhun

Manual Osteopath

Jeannie comes to us with a wealth of knowledge about the body. Her passion for health and wellness led her to Osteopathy after she saw incredible results on an injury she had suffered with for a long time. She trained at the National Academy of Osteopathy where she graduated with honours. Jeannie is in good standing with both the National Manual Osteopathic Society and the Society of Osteopaths.

She has taught yoga for 4 years but has been practicing for 15 years. She teaches Hatha, Vinyasa, Power, Yin and Restorative Yoga but also enjoys working on improving and growing in her own practice. Yoga, Reiki and meditation have played a huge role in her life and she attributes its benefits as the reason she is who she is today. She desires to continue to strive to be better and plans to attain her Masters and Doctrine in Osteopathy in the near future. Her favourite branch of Osteopathy is Cranial Osteopathy and plans to add Pediatric Cranial- Sacral therapy to her skills set in the future.

Jeannie’s hobbies include Yoga, Reiki, meditation and being outdoors … when it’s warm.

Certified Reflexologist, Reiki Practitioner, Massage Therapy Student

Sarah is a certified Reflexologist with the Reflexology Registration Council of Ontario and completed her certification through Centennial College in July 2018. Sarah is also a level II Reiki practitioner and has been certified since April 2017.

Sarah came became interested in alternative health care as a way to manage stress, anxiety and to promote health in her body naturally. She loves to be able to provide a gentle, supportive, relaxing and restorative environment to nourish the mind and body and promote healing. In addition to being a Reflexologist and Reiki Practitioner, Sarah is also a certified yoga instructor and brings elements of mindfulness and breath work into her treatment sessions to help clients deeply relax. Sarah is always learning through personal and professional development and training. She is currently studying Massage Therapy at Fleming College. She wanted to expand her skills and knowledge about the how the human body works after learning reflexology.

When Sarah isn’t at the clinic she loves yoga, hiking, gardening and nature photography.
